Equipment

My normal walking gear is comfy jeans, lightweight walking boots and, in appropriate weather, short-sleeved shirt. I have worn an anorak when it's wet or cold.

I carry my mobile with me - which I use for my cardio app - but I confess, I don’t normally take anything else.

Nina Barough, in her book Walking For Fitness recommends as 'basic equipment,' a pedometer and a bum bag, in which to carry essentials such as keys, lip salve, money etc. The app on my mobile measures the number of steps taken, but some sort of carrier for things like keys is a good idea.

I saw some joggers with D-shaped water bottles, which fit snugly over the fist.

In time there'll be more on equipment in this section, but for now here's a picture.
